Original 1936 postal history cover mailed from Brussels, Belgium, and addressed in French to President Franklin D. Roosevelt at the White House in Washington, D.C. The cover bears a 1.75 Franc Belgian King Leopold III postage stamp with clear Brussels postal cancellations and a contemporary Belgian postal slogan marking. The reverse is clearly stamped: “FROM THE FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT COLLECTION – AUTHENTICATED BY H. R. HARMER INC., N.Y.” This provenance identifies the cover as having originated from President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s renowned personal philatelic collection and later authenticated during the H. R. Harmer dispersal of the Roosevelt Collection.
