1933 Cuba Cover to FDR Franklin D. Roosevelt H.R. Harmer Provenance # 1115

Original March 1933 Cuban postal cover addressed to President Franklin D. Roosevelt in Washington, D.C. The handwritten Spanish address identifies Roosevelt as President of the United States of North America. The cover is franked with a 3-centavos Republic of Cuba stamp, postmarked Habana, Cuba, March 5, 1933, with a New York receiving postmark dated March 8, 1933. It was mailed only one day after Roosevelt’s first presidential inauguration. The reverse bears the red provenance stamp: “From the Franklin D. Roosevelt Collection — Authenticated by H.R. Harmer Inc., N.Y.” A desirable piece of FDR presidential memorabilia, Cuban postal history and philatelic ephemera with documented collection provenance. The writing and markings are postal addressing and forwarding notations and are not Roosevelt autographs. The envelope shows age-related wear, including creases, edge tears, roughness along the opening, staining and handwritten routing corrections. No original enclosure is included or shown.
