1890 Horry County SC Isaac Cannon One-Acre Church Land Deed # 1122

Original May 29, 1890 Horry County, South Carolina land deed in which Isaac Cannon conveyed approximately one acre of land for church use to J. M. Cannon, S. J. Cannon and Doctor Phipps, or their successors in office. The handwritten property description states that the parcel measured approximately 70 yards on each side and was part of a larger tract connected to an earlier 1791 land grant. The deed indicates the property was to be used for church purposes and includes Isaac Cannon’s original signature and seal mark. Also signed by witnesses A. F. Cannon and J. B. Skipper. Printed on a Walker, Evans & Cogswell legal form from Charleston, South Carolina, with period handwritten entries and later recording notes on the reverse. Condition shows substantial age-related wear, including heavy foxing and staining, faded writing, multiple folds, edge chipping, small losses and separation or weakness along several fold lines. The document remains substantially complete and much of the writing is readable. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition and content.
