1924 Horry County SC Watts Family Estate Agreement Signed Malcolm Watts # 1141

Original June 24, 1924, family property and estate agreement from Horry County, South Carolina. The agreement concerns O. M. Watts and his wife, Bettie A. Watts, after portions of the family property were conveyed by warranty deeds to their lawful heirs while life-estate rights were retained. The heirs agreed to return or transfer their interests if required for O. M. Watts’s support, refrain from forcing division sales and settle the estate amicably without employing a lawyer. Signed in original ink by Malcolm Watts, Leila V. Watts, F. G. Watts and Mattie Watts, with additional witness signatures. The agreement also names minor family members Donnie, Thelma, Laura and Boyd Watts. Genealogical evidence indicates that O. M. Watts was probably Owen Malcolm Watts and that signer Malcolm Watts was likely his son Olin Malcolm Watts. This may connect directly with a 1920 Southern Pacific Lines letter from Deming, New Mexico, signed “Malcolm.” Displays original folds, age toning, lower-section staining, edge wear and minor spotting, as shown.
