1940 Turkey Registered Cover to Polish Internee Switzerland WWII Censor # 1194

Original World War II registered and military-censored cover, mailed from Ankara, Turkey, to Huttwil, Switzerland, in November 1940. Addressed to Mr. Stanisław Domański, identified on the envelope as an internee. The cover features four Turkish Mustafa Kemal Atatürk postage stamps in multiple colors, an Ankara registered-mail label numbered 416, and clear postal cancellations. It was opened and resealed with bilingual Swiss censorship tape reading “Geöffnet – Militär-Zensur / Ouvert – Censure militaire.” A boxed “Zuzustellen Feldpostdirektion” marking indicates routing through the Swiss military postal authorities. The reverse has clear Huttwil, Bern arrival postmarks dated November 25, 1940, along with an additional red transit or military marking. An interesting piece of WWII postal history connected with neutral Switzerland, military internment, censorship and international registered mail. Condition shows authentic wartime handling, including edge tears, creasing, toning and wear. The stamps, registration label, censor tape and important postal markings remain present and visible.
