The cover is franked with an attractive block of four green 40-centimos Costa Rica “Telégrafos” stamps, totaling 1.60 colones. The stamps are tied by purple Liberia cancellations dated November 13, 1936. Also included is the original attached registered-mail certificate numbered 0224, matching the registration label on the envelope. The reverse displays multiple Costa Rican transit and registration markings, a New York Registry Division arrival marking, two surviving red wax seals, and a signed Spanish declaration stating that the registered item contained no banknotes or bearer securities. A particularly interesting destination cover addressed to the historic Scott Stamp & Coin Company, one of America’s best-known philatelic firms.
