1926 Austria to Cincinnati Ohio 10¢ Postage Due Pair 5¢ Postal Card # 1205

Original 1926 Austrian postal stationery postcard mailed from Wels, Austria, to Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Addressed to Mr. Eugene Reimer, 3336 Jefferson Avenue, Clifton, Cincinnati. The card bears a green Austrian printed indicium with an additional 15-groschen Austrian stamp. It was marked with a bold “T” for postage due and a blue handwritten “10 cts” charge. Two United States 5¢ Postage Due stamps were applied and canceled in Cincinnati to collect the 10-cent deficiency. Dated June 8, 1926, with a Wels postal cancellation dated June 9. The reverse contains a full handwritten message in German. An attractive example of early international Austria-to–United States postage-due postal history. Condition: Antique used condition with age toning, creases, surface marks, edge and corner wear, and a small tear at the top middle of the card.
