Item description

Original 1938 Czechoslovakia-to-New York postal-history cover mailed from Komárno on April 21, 1938. The envelope is franked with a 2.50 Kč Czechoslovak castle stamp and bears a black “T” postage-due marking, handwritten “30 c” notation, and a clear “New York, N.Y. G.P.O. — Due 3 Cents” handstamp. Two United States postage-due stamps—1¢ and 2¢, totaling 3 cents—remain attached to the cover. The reverse has the printed sender identification “Dr. Silberer Sándor.” An appealing pre–World War II transatlantic cover showing Czechoslovak postage, international deficiency markings, New York postal handling, and U.S. postage-due collection. Condition is as shown, with age toning, creases, edge and corner wear, light staining, postal ink marks, and an old translucent repair or reinforcement near the Czechoslovak stamp. Envelope contents are not confirmed. Please review all photographs carefully for exact condition and markings.
