Item description

Original 1914 Alameda County, California marriage license and certificate issued to William C. Harrison and Marjory Gardiner. This attractive early-20th-century document features an ornate engraved border, period handwritten entries, official signatures, an embossed gold-colored county seal, and the attached recording section stamped “Indexed.” The certificate was recorded in Alameda County in June 1914 and later mailed to William C. Harrison in Fort Flagler, Washington. A wonderful piece of California genealogy, social history, legal-document history, or decorative ephemera. The document shows expected age and storage wear, including original folds, toning, scattered staining, surface marks, edge wear, and small creases. The seal remains attached. No attempt has been made to clean, flatten, or restore the document. Please review all photographs carefully for names, dates, signatures, markings, and exact condition.
