C1919 Ottoman Empire Constantinople to Budapest Romanian Censored Bank #1264

Original circa-1919 Ottoman Empire commercial bank cover from the Société Anonyme Hongroise de Banque et de Commerce, Constantinople branch, mailed from Constantinople/Galata to Budapest, Hungary. The cover bears three canceled Ottoman postage stamps, including two purple 5-para stamps and one blue 1-piastre stamp, along with a Galata postmark, handwritten routing information, transit markings, and a rectangular censor marking that appears to read “Armata No. 1 Budapesta — Censurat.” This marking is associated with Romanian military censorship during the turbulent post–World War I period. An interesting piece of Ottoman, Hungarian, Romanian occupation, banking, censorship, and international postal history.
