The front is typewritten in Spanish to: Mr. Franklin Delano Roosevelt Presidente de los Estados Unidos Estados Unidos de America The cover was mailed from Potrerillo, Oriente, Cuba and retains its original Cuban postage stamp and postal cancellation. The reverse bears the important red provenance marking: “FROM THE FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT COLLECTION – AUTHENTICATED BY H.R. HARMER INC., N.Y.” H.R. Harmer was the auction house selected to disperse Franklin D. Roosevelt’s renowned philatelic collection following his death, making this authentication an important part of the cover’s provenance.
