1932 Paris France to FDR Franklin D Roosevelt Governor NY Campaign Cover # 1288

Scarce 1932 international postal cover mailed from Paris, France to Franklin D. Roosevelt while he was serving as Governor of New York and campaigning for President of the United States. The envelope is formally addressed: His Excellency Governor Franklin D. Roosevelt Executive Mansion Albany New York The Paris postal cancellation appears dated July 16, 1932, placing this cover just weeks after Roosevelt received the Democratic presidential nomination on July 2, 1932. This makes it an appealing piece of FDR presidential campaign and political postal history. The cover retains three original French postage stamps, including 40c, 50c and 1.50-franc denominations, with period Paris cancellations. Condition is consistent with its age, with visible edge wear, creasing, toning, small tears and general handling wear. Stamps remain attached and the Roosevelt address is very clear. Please examine all photographs for exact condition. Important: I would not yet advertise this one as being from Roosevelt’s personal stamp collection unless the back has an H.R. Harmer/FDR Collection authentication marking like the other envelope. If you show me the back, I can determine whether this one also has that valuable provenance.
