Original vintage Franklin D. Roosevelt personal stamp collection postal cover, mailed from Paris, France and addressed directly to President Roosevelt at the White House, Washington, U.S.A. The front retains a strip of three red French République Française 50-centime postage stamps with Paris postal cancellations. The reverse carries the important red provenance marking: “FROM THE FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT COLLECTION AUTHENTICATED BY H. R. HARMER INC., N.Y.” This provenance connects the cover to Franklin D. Roosevelt’s well-known personal philatelic collection and makes it desirable to collectors of FDR memorabilia, presidential history, postal history, and stamps. The blue envelope presents very well, with attractive period handwriting, clear postal markings, and the original three-stamp franking still intact.
