1933 FDR Roosevelt Puebla Mexico 3-Stamp Cover H.R. Harmer Collection # 1319

Offered here is an original 1933 Mexican postal cover addressed directly to President Franklin D. Roosevelt in Washington, D.C., with documented provenance from Roosevelt’s personal stamp collection. The envelope was mailed from Puebla, Mexico and is clearly postmarked May 26, 1933, during FDR’s first year as President of the United States. The typed address reads: “Mr. Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidente de los EE.UU.A. Capitolio Washington, D.C.” The return address identifies the sender as: Alvaro Bonilla 8 Poniente 313 Puebla, Pue., México The cover features an attractive three-stamp Mexican franking, including two orange 5-centavo stamps and a purple patriotic stamp, all tied by Puebla postal cancellations.
