This is an attractive early printing of one of Twain’s best-known novels, issued shortly after the original 1889 publication. The copyright page states “Copyrighted, 1889, by S. L. Clemens”, while the title page is dated 1890. Beautifully bound in the original olive-green pictorial cloth, with elaborate gilt, black, and blue-gray decoration on the front cover and gilt lettering and decoration on the spine.
