1916 WWI Canada 19th Battalion CEF Cover 3x 1c War Tax Halifax #1395

Original World War I Canadian military postal-history cover associated with the 19th Overseas Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF). The envelope was mailed from Halifax, Nova Scotia on August 5, 1916 and is franked with three 1¢ green King George V “WAR TAX” stamps, all tied by the Halifax postal cancellation. The reverse features a striking printed “19 Overseas Battalion Canada” regimental crest with crown and maple-leaf design. A desirable combination of WWI Canadian military history, CEF regimental stationery, War Tax postage, and Halifax postal history. The 19th Battalion served overseas with the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War, giving this surviving cover strong historical interest. Condition: The envelope is heavily worn with substantial tearing and paper loss along the upper and right edges, plus age toning, creasing, and general handling wear. Despite the damage, the three War Tax stamps, Halifax 1916 cancellation, handwritten address, and 19th Battalion crest remain clearly visible and display well.
