Authentic-looking 1860s Civil War-era U.S. postal history cover bearing a 3¢ George Washington stamp from the 1861 issue, most likely Scott #65. The cover is addressed to Elgin, Illinois and features a bold black target-style cancellation on the stamp along with a partially legible circular Illinois postmark. The exact originating post office and year are difficult to confirm from the strike, so they are not guaranteed.
