Gideon Granger Autograph Signature Jefferson Madison Postmaster General #1465

Original early American cut autograph signature attributed to Gideon Granger (1767–1822), an important statesman who served as United States Postmaster General from 1801 to 1814 under Presidents Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. The antique paper fragment is boldly signed “G Granger” in brown ink with large flowing pen strokes. An old handwritten identification beneath the signature notes his service as Postmaster General from 1801–1814. The reverse shows age-related toning, manuscript show-through/offsetting, and additional period or collector notations. The signature was previously housed on the accompanying collector display page identifying Gideon Granger and summarizing his government service. The display page is included as shown. Condition: Antique condition with expected age toning, light staining, handling wear, and minor surface imperfections. The signature itself remains strong, dark, and highly legible.
