1848 Nathan Kelsey Hall Signed Autograph Congressman Postmaster General #1457

Original 1848 Nathan Kelsey Hall autograph sentiment, handwritten and signed while Hall was serving as a United States Congressman from New York. Hall later served as U.S. Postmaster General under President Millard Fillmore from 1850–1852 and subsequently became a federal judge. The handwritten inscription reads: “House of Representatives Washington Aug. 8, 1848 Cordially Yours N. K. Hall” A desirable early political autograph with a clearly dated Washington, D.C. inscription from Hall’s Congressional career, two years before his appointment as Postmaster General. The original handwritten sheet is mounted/glued to an older brown backing board and should be left as-is unless evaluated by a professional paper conservator. The piece shows expected age-related toning, fold lines, light spotting, edge wear, and handling consistent with an original 19th-century document. Ink remains bold and highly legible.
