1942 commemorative exhibition cover from the Admiral Byrd Stamp and Coin Club of Reading, Pennsylvania. The colorful printed cachet features Admiral Richard E. Byrd, a penguin, and an Antarctic scene. Created for the club’s Seventh Annual Exhibition, held March 19–22, 1942, at the Abraham Lincoln Hotel. Bears a 3¢ U.S. Byrd Antarctic Expedition II stamp, a Reading, PA postmark dated March 19, 1942, and a “Buy Defense Savings Bonds and Stamps” slogan cancellation. Hand-addressed on the front. This is a stamp club exhibition souvenir cover, not a first-day cover or mail posted from Antarctica. Condition: Age toning, light edge and corner wear, scattered marks, and discoloration near the reverse corners. The illustrated cachet remains clear and colorful.
