Beautiful antique lot of 3 convex mounted portrait photographs, all connected to the same identified Ohio family. Two photographs depict the same gentleman at different ages and are handwritten on the reverse “Dr. Henry Wilson – Oberlin, Ohio.” The third portrait depicts a woman identified on the reverse as “Mrs. Henry Wilson – Oberlin, Ohio.” These are genuine curved/convex portrait photographs, made to be displayed beneath convex or “bubble” glass. The photographs are mounted on thick shaped backing boards and appear to date from approximately the late 1800s to early 1900s. This is an especially appealing group because the portraits have remained together, are identified by name and location, and include two different images of Dr. Wilson along with his wife. Historical research has uncovered interesting Wilson family connections in northern Ohio, including prominent physicians and dentists, but this listing represents the subjects according to the original handwritten identification on the photographs and does not make any unverified claim regarding a more specific biography.
