1762 Antique Du Bois Heraldic Wax Seal Koolewerff 1774 Dutch Armorial #1508

Antique European heraldic wax seal specimen associated with the Du Bois and Koolewerff families, mounted on its original handwritten collector’s card. The large dark wax impression features a detailed armorial coat of arms with shield, helmet, elaborate mantling, and surrounding inscription. Portions of the outer legend appear to include “SIGILLVM” and “DU BOIS.” The original card is handwritten with: “Du Bois” – 1762 “Koolewerff” – dated 1774 An old paper identification strip runs beneath the seal and contains additional period-style handwritten notes. The reverse shows the original mounting arrangement and secondary wax impression. This appears to be an antique heraldic/sigillographic collector’s specimen preserving an older family seal design. The handwritten dates of 1762 and 1774 are original to the card; the exact date the physical wax impression itself was made has not been independently confirmed. Condition: The wax remains mounted to the original card and shows age-related surface wear, cracking, edge wear, and loss of fine detail consistent with an old seal specimen.
