Ornate Crucifix Pendant with 84 Reverse Mark # 1517

A small metal crucifix pendant with a raised figure of Christ on an elaborate cross. The front features symmetrical scrolling foliage, berry or grape-like clusters, and shaped terminals, with a suspension loop at the top. The reverse is plain apart from a group of small stamped marks near the center. Visible reverse marks include “84,” “B.A.,” “B.C.,” “1871,” and a small device or emblem. The 84 fineness mark is associated with the historic Russian silver standard, but the marks are presented here as they appear; their full interpretation and the metal composition have not been independently verified.
